The Drone Certification Agency operates from the CAA-licensed heliport located at the northern end of the Isle of Portland in Dorset. The site provides direct access to open sea areas and coordinated entry to nearby Danger Areas, enabling safe and controlled environments for UAS testing and evaluation. Operational access can be arranged from the heliport itself or via Chesil Beach, with the runway available for calibration activities, system fine-tuning and tethered operations where required.
HeliOperations can further support UAS capability development through the provision of air or maritime assets, enabling activities such as Manned–Unmanned Teaming (MUm-T) and deck landing development, training or practice. Ground support facilities include hangarage, vehicle parking and office space, alongside assistance with SORA development and operational training where required.
The heliport can be made available seven days a week, with night operations considered where operationally required.
