Local Airspace
The Drone Certification Agency, (DCA), provides a professional structured aviation environment supporting the development, evaluation, and flight testing of Unmanned Air Systems, (UAS), from component and system integration trials to operating envelope expansion; all aspects of UAS Trials and Evaluation, (T&E) can be catered for.
Based at the CAA-licenced Heliport on Portland in Dorset and operating alongside HeliOperations, DCA combines regulated aviation infrastructure, aerospace engineering expertise in a real operational environment. In addition, the Heliport’s Flight Restriction Zone, (FRZ), allows for safe managed access to the Lyme Bay Danger Areas with onward connections to other Areas eastwards along the south coast.
The DCA can offer facilities and support with a level of aviation professionalism and experience rarely found in conventional UAS Test Sites.
The T-150 has recently been deployed in a shore-to-ship logistics exercise in collaboration with HeliOperations, demonstrating how uncrewed air systems can deliver practical value in real-world commercial environments.
